There is something special about this time of the year and I LOVE it all. The lights, the music, the positive energy and sense of community in the city.
Now that we have snow, it looks more like Christmas and for me always help it to feel more like Christmas.
If the snow doesn’t do it for you, then the events around the city will, as there are a TON of fun, festive events happening this week!
Winter Wonderland In Victoria Park
We’re so lucky to have Victoria Park right in the heart of our downtown to enjoy all year. It’s great for walks, picnics…but truly gets transformed into something magical this time of the year.
You can stroll through the park and experience the stunning 75,000 lights decorating the trees in the park. Enjoy a family skate on the outdoor rink and visit the big guy himself at Santa’s House. Take a picture with Santa, watch the dancing light show every night until Dec 23rd from 6pm-9pm and all proceeds will support helping kids in need in our community through the Teresina Larizza charities foundation.
If you’re looking for a great photo or just want to experience the brilliance of the park from the COOLEST angle, you can view the lights from the Promenade Deck at City Hall. Click here for the schedule for when you can do that.
Outdoor Winter Skating Trail
You can’t match the sound of a skate cutting through the ice as the wind hits your face! There really is nothing like going for a skate outside during the winter in London.
An outdoor rink is neat, but if you’re looking for a unique and cool way to have fun on the ice, you NEED to experience the Outdoor Winter Skating Trail at Storybook Gardens.
The walk-ways become a beautiful 250 metre skating trail open six days a week until the end of February. You can even rent skates if you want to try it out.
Be sure to take lots of pics and videos, especially if you have friends in the U.S…as they already think this is how we get around all winter!!!
Country 104 Toy Drive To Read
I know everyday that I’m incredibly lucky to work for this radio station, but there are special moments during the year that this feeling is almost overwhelming. It’s not the free tickets or food, even the chance to meet famous people…it’s seeing the outpouring of love and support from the community first hand.
Talking to the smiling faces, whether they dropped off a single toy or had their vehicle loaded to the brim. Seeing the appreciation and joy when we drop off the HUGE collection of toys to the Salvation Army and knowing that all these families that will have a wonderful Christmas.
Get together with your office/ department or at home and start collecting gifts or Monetary donations that could go towards a child in need and drop it off on Thursday!

Kenny G- Miracles Holidays & Hits Tour 2017

If you’re looking for a night of amazing music then you can’t miss Kenny G when he brings his Miracles Holiday & Hits Tour to Centennial Hall on Fri Dec 15th.
It would be a great date night and a nice break from the hustle and bustle of preparing for the big day!
