It’s official. 14 years after the infamous “Nipple-Gate” (____-gates were so much simpler in those times), Justin Timberlake will headline this years Super Bowl halftime show.
He made the announcement will the help of Jimmy Fallon.
Nobody who saw the event live, will ever forget Timberlake’s last appearance during the Super Bowl Halftime show… when the term “wardrobe malfunction” was popularized.
Twitter users are currently showing support for bringing back Janet Jackson for Timberlake’s performance, as a show of good faith and support. Additionally, rumours are swirling that Timberlake’s former boy band, N’Sync, will make an appearance.
As excited as we are about Justin Timberlake, who’s currently working on his 5th studio album, said to be inspired by his Memphis-roots, we can’t help wonder why the NFL won’t book another country act as its headliner. We haven’t had a country music headliner for the Super Bowl since Shania Twain in 2003.
If it was up to me, I wouldn’t bring Janet Jackson OR N’Sync on stage with Timberlake. I’d bring Chris Stapleton on stage, instead.
