Even though Spring is still in full bloom, there’s no question that the May 2-4 Weekend is our kick-off to another exciting Summer!
Here are some last minute ideas to help you get out and have some fun with the family!
Some of my best memories growing up were on those family camping trips. Roasting marshmallows on an open fire while looking up at all the stars, going for hikes and playing by the water. You don’t have to take a day to get there, as we have dozens of great camping spots right around London!
2. Sports & Entertainment!
If your family needs more excitement, speed and noise to enjoy your long weekend, then you look no further!
Delaware Speedway has a full weekend of events happening Friday to Sunday. Check out the incredible video below to see the view from the pace truck!
The London Majors take on the Hamilton Cardinals on Friday night at Labatt Memorial Park
3. Fun with history!
It’s opening weekend at Fanshawe Pioneer Village as the doors will open for the 58th season on Saturday. On Monday May 22nd you can enjoy the birthday celebrations for Queen Victoria along with 19th century games, historical speeches and a vintage baseball game…besides where else could you see someone shearing a sheep!
It’s not a long weekend in Canada without fireworks! Watch the largest fireworks display in the London area with the Fanshawe Optimist Fireworks at Fanshawe Conservation Area Monday at dusk. Look how stunning and peaceful that is, I’m already practising my oooh’s and ahhh’s!
5. Play with the kids!
Bring your little ones to Imagination Station at Museum London on Sunday May 21st from 1pm-4pm. Have fun playing and creating together with painting, drawing , sculpture and more. It’s FREE as is the guided tour of Museum.
London Children’s Museum is open on Monday May 22nd from 10am-5pm, so if the kids are starting to get bored and fight…then find some rest here!
