LCBO unionized staff will hold a strike vote later this month, upset with concessions a new contract will demand. OPSEU isn’t happy that the government is selling beer, wine and cider in grocery stores, calling it ‘creeping privatization’. The also have concerns about job security, scheduling and health and safety. Right now, there are 130 Ontario grocery stores selling beer and cider, 70 of those also selling wine. The government plans to expand that number to 450.
