Yesterday, the topic of standing vs sitting at concerts came up during Dunner’s chat with Boot’s & Heart’s performer Drake White.
What do you think? Which do you prefer, sitting or standing? Here’s what we heard yesterday when we asked on social media.
Karen Haley wrote on Facebook “Stand/dance at the stage right by speakers!!!”.
Annette Grotentraast said “Maybe some people can’t stand for hours on end. Or maybe there’s a kid behind you that is standing just so they can see over your head. Or a vertically challenged person (in 5’10)…..lol…self centeredness should ruin a concert for others. We all paid the same to be there. Maybe just me but I consider those around me before making this decision”.
katgruet added “I’m not too concerned with what you do, but if you choose to sit, you shouldn’t get angry at those who choose to stand”.
Brooke texted us to say “Totally disagree with standing when you bought tickets to sit. If you want to stand, buy tickets on the floor. I think this because I was at a Lady A concert and 4 elderly people were there and 6 young girls stood up in the seats infront of them so that they couldn’t see. And they can’t stand cause they were too old but wanted to enjoy the show!!”.
Kelly texted to say this “I’ve done both and have been on the receiving end of both. It definitely sucks when you can’t see after paying good money to attend. We bought floor tickets to see Eric Church at the ACC we stood but all the people in front of us stood too could not see a thing other than on the screen. Wonder if the solution is to build the stage higher so no matter if you sit or stand you can see”.
